Quiet luxury: the buzz words you’re sick of hearing but also somehow can’t escape. I, for one, can’t even tell you how many articles I’ve written or edited for work on the topic in the last six months. (It’s a lot.) But the interesting thing about style is that talking about a trend, or reading about it, or seeing how others interpret it is different from how you bring it to life in your own special way. For example, my professional style editor brain would not call this outfit a textbook example of quiet luxury; it’s a bit too slouchy, a bit too trend-based. But in my personal life, with my particular wardrobe, this is how the trend comes to life for me: cashmere sweater, loose trousers, streetwear sneakers, with a few trendy details (Johnny collar, cargo pockets) that I’m currently obsessed with. All this to say, a trend is only a theory until it enters real life — when it becomes personal, that’s when it becomes interesting.
