My chocolate brown era continues! I’ve been looking forward to wearing this particular outfit for awhile, ever since I got these Theory trousers back in the fall (can confirm they’re the softest pants to ever touch my body). I knew exactly how I wanted to style them, but when it came time to leave the house, I was struggling with deciding what shoes to wear them with — suede sneakers or pointy-toe leather boots — and realized this is the exact type of scenario in which to call upon my three style words. As a refresher, my adjectives are current, relaxed, and refined, and the goal is to encompass all three words in every outfit. In this instance, the accessories (and the outfit palette) covered current, the slouchy fit of the sweater and the trousers checked off relaxed, and so the boots won out over the sneakers to bring in the refined element. If I had gone for the sneakers, the look would have veered too much in the relaxed direction. A good reminder to establish your three words for 2025 if you haven’t already! It really does make getting dressed so much easier.
