Back in 2019, my denim collection was probably the most precious thing in my closet. I spent many years (and $$$) curating a lineup of vintage Levi’s 501s in all sorts of washes. From there, it’s a familiar tale: the pandemic happened, my jeans stopped fitting, and I stopped wearing them altogether. To be honest, I’m not quite sure whether me not wearing jeans is because I needed time and space away to mourn my collection or whether they just didn’t fit into my new normal, but either way, I only started getting back into building up my collection again within the last six months or so. I even sourced a new pair of vintage 501s last week that I’m excited to wear!
All this to say, the timing couldn’t have been more perfect when Citizens of Humanity reached out earlier this month with an opportunity to test drive the new Zurie Straight jeans before they launch today. A tailored pair of dark wash, straight-leg jeans is exactly what’s been missing in my current rotation — something sleeker and more streamlined to wear with heels on a night out. I’m in love with the fit of these jeans (even more so than I thought I’d be!). They contour to the waist and hips and have a tiny bit of stretch for ease — I normally would suggest going down in Citizens of Humanity for a perfect fit, but would recommend going with your normal size in these!
