Dressing for an afternoon in Napa always brings out the best of my style. Between the lavish wineries, Michelin-starred restaurants, and exclusive resorts, it’s a fancy place. But within the luxury of it all, there’s a laidback element — this is still California, after all. If quiet luxury was a city, it’d be Napa. Think: elevated ease, casual elegance, basically all the descriptors I like to evoke through my outfits. Typically, I’d reach for a nice dress like this, this, or this since they’re one and done, but this past weekend, we had plans to spend an afternoon picnicking at Scribe Winery, so I wanted to go a bit more comfy-casual with pants I could actually lounge in. That’s were linen separates come in. I love linen for its effortlessly elevated appeal — it’s more refined than cotton and more relaxed than silk, and can look expensive when styled intentionally. I opted for a structured tank with an interesting neckline, my favorite cashmere sweater, and woven leather accessories, all in neutral tones. All in all, I think this look understood the assignment, since it works just as well for grazing on cheese and crackers on the grass as it would for eating caviar at a fine-dining establishment.
