The wedding planning continues! We’ve got some venue tours lined up and hoping to finally secure a 2023 date by the end of the month. With all this planning, I’m realizing that I’ve romanticized the process in my head quite a bit throughout my life, and now that I’m finally actually doing the planning, it’s far from what I envisioned. For starters, it’s only fun when you actually have the money to be able to legitimately consider all the options and don’t need to worry about such pedestrian things like can I afford this (at least in my experience). Being forced to consider options you don’t really love, but have to learn to love based on your budget is actually quite stressful and not at all fun. And don’t even get me started on touring venues — I had this grand idea in my head of this time in my life being fun and carefree, as I leisurely frolic my way through one beautiful property after another, with outfits to match. In reality, we’re rushing to cram as many tours as possible into a short window since event dates (even 2023 ones!) are filling up fast and we need to secure one in order to start moving forward. I wish I had more time to enjoy the excursions and turn them into little mini getaways!
