It’s been awhile since I’ve fallen this hard for a “ludicrously capacious” tote bag (IYKYK), but the Yuzefi Mochi bag had me at hello. I’ve been on my tiny bags game for years now, but started looking around for a bigger leather shoulder bag earlier this year. It all started when I was summoned for jury duty in January. The night before I had to report to city hall, I realized I didn’t have anything stylish that could comfortably fit my laptop, multiple chargers, and my giant water bottle. The last time I needed to tote my laptop around for the day was pre-pandemic when I was commuting into an office regularly, and back then I didn’t need to also bring along chargers or a water bottle. I ended up using this older Anine Bing bag, which I still love and was what I used to carry into the office, but without shoulder straps, lugging around anything more than a laptop in it can get really heavy and inconvenient.
I love a clamshell/trapezoid shape — as evidenced by my well-loved Nanushka bag I carried everywhere from 2020 to 2022 — so when I saw the Yuzefi Mochi, in an olive hue no less (yes, obsession still going strong), I knew it was the one. After waiting and scouring for a few months, I was rewarded with a Real Real find. I have the original style with the thinner shoulder straps (the brand edited the design to feature thicker straps), and don’t find them uncomfortable at all. The longer strap length helps them stay put on my shoulder without slipping down, which sometimes happens with shorter straps if the bag is bulky. It doesn’t come with inside pockets or compartments, so I use little drawstring or zippered pouches to coral loose items like keys and lip products. So happy it arrived in time for my work trip to NYC this week — will be planning all my outfits around it! Am I a big bag person now?!
